Visit by Mr Sergio Grassi Director of FES Indonesia to ASETUC and UNI MLC office.

Mr Sergio Grassi, Director of FES Indonesia office visited ASETUC & UNI MLC office on 4^th August 2015. The purpose of this visit is to get some ideas on labour movement in Malaysia and on possible collaboration in future.

This meeting was attended by Bro Shafie, Sis Marina and Sis Anne and Ms. Ranee Kumaran, Programme Officer of FES Malaysia office. Bro Shafie shared about activities of ASETUC and UNI MLC and the realities faced by trade union and challenges in organizing and shared some of the success done by UNI MLC. He also shared about Smart Partnership which is to build harmonious relationship between workers and employer without compromising Trade Union principals. Sis Marina shared further on the Tripartite Social Dialogue and the efforts in relation to ASEAN Economic Integration.

On 3 August 2015, a meeting was convened between Mr. Toshinobu Sada, Managing Director, Mr. Alex Soon, Marketing & Sales Division Manager, Pn. Zawina Ahmad, Human Resource Officer from Rengo Packaging Malaysia with UNI MLC President, Bro Mohamed Shafie Mammal in the office of UNI MLC, Kuala Lumpur. This meeting is a courtesy call to discuss on proposed collective bargaining.

1st Collective Agreement for Robinson & Co. (Malaya) Sdn. Bhd. Employees Union

We are pleased to inform that the signing of the 1st Collective Agreement for Robinson & Co. (Malaya) Sdn. Bhd. Employees Union which took place on 4th August 2015 and will take effect from 1st August 2015 until 30th July 2018 (3 Years).

The Company was represented by Ms. Lim Ching Mun, Assistant General Manager of HR while the Union was represented by Bro. Mohd Faizal Bin Rosli, President of Robinson Union. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Bro Shafie, President of UNI-MLC.

This is yet another breakthrough for UNI-MLC and UNICOME in organizing the commerce sector in Malaysia.
