Meeting with YB M. Kulasegaran, Minister of Human Resource Malaysia on Representation at Conciliation and before the Industrial Court

 
 
 
 
 


On 19th February 2019, a delegation comprising representatives from organisations of employers and workers and other interested parties had a Meeting with YB M. Kulasegaran, Minister of Human Resource Malaysia on Representation at Conciliation and before the Industrial Court in Putrajaya.

The purpose of this meeting is to request the YB Minister of Human Resource to include in the proposed amendments to the Industrial Relations Act a provision that in conciliation proceedings and before the Industrial Court workers and employers should be permitted to be represented by any person of the party's choice.  This request is consistent with the recommendation by PEMANDU Sri Lab on Modernizing Labour Law.  It is also consistent with ILO Recommendation No 119 which states that on termination of service of a workman, he should be given the benefit of being represented by a person of his choice.    

In this Meeting, UNI MLC was represented by the following leaders:

On the 15th of February 2019, the signing ceremony of the 7th and 9th Collective Agreements between Pos Malaysia Berhad and the 7 Postal Unions in Pos Malaysia was held at the Pos Malaysia Head Office in Kuala Lumpur.

The Pos Malaysia Berhad Management was represented by:

The signing ceremony was witnessed Yang Berbahagia Tuan Khalid Jali, Director General Industrial Relations Department, Ministry of Human Resource Malaysia. 

Y.Bhg Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal was invited to give a speech on behalf of UNI MLC at the signing ceremony. In his speech, Datuk Shafie expressed his appreciation to Pos Malaysia and the 7 Unions for inviting him to give a speech at this ceremony and further congratulated the Pos Malaysia Management and all 7 Unions in concluding the Collective Agreement negotiations and successfully signing it today.
