Dalam pertemuan tersebut, pelbagai inisiatif terkini Kerajaan telah dikongsi dalam usaha memperkukuh standard perburuhan negara. Ini termasuk agenda reformasi undang-undang perburuhan, penggubalan Akta Pekerja Gig 2025 [Akta 872], pelaksanaan Occupational Safety and Health Master Plan (OSHMP) 2026–2030, serta pengenalan Skim Kemalangan Bukan Bencana Kerja (LINDUNG 24 JAM) yang telah berkuat kuasa pada 1 Jun 2026. UNI Global Union dan UNI-MLC turut menegaskan kepentingan prinsip perundingan bersama serta kebebasan berpersatuan sebagai asas utama perlindungan hak pekerja.
Turut dibincangkan ialah kebimbangan terhadap ketidaktentuan geopolitik di Timur Tengah yang berpotensi memberi kesan kepada kestabilan ekonomi global, rantaian bekalan, peluang pekerjaan serta kesejahteraan pekerja. Impak tersebut turut dirasai oleh banyak negara termasuk Malaysia, khususnya melalui peningkatan kos operasi, ketidaktentuan pasaran dan tekanan terhadap sektor pekerjaan. Sehubungan itu, penegasan telah dibuat bahawa perlindungan hak pekerja serta prinsip keadilan sosial perlu terus diperkukuh, khususnya dalam suasana global yang tidak menentu. Ketidakstabilan geopolitik tidak wajar dijadikan alasan untuk mengabaikan kebajikan pekerja, menjejaskan standard perburuhan atau menghakis perlindungan sosial yang menjadi teras kepada pembangunan ekonomi yang mampan dan inklusif.
Pertemuan ini turut mengukuhkan hubungan antara Kerajaan Malaysia dan UNI Global Union sebagai organisasi antarabangsa yang mewakili kepentingan pekerja, sekali gus memperkukuh kerjasama strategik dalam memperkasa agenda perburuhan, dialog sosial dan pembangunan tenaga kerja di peringkat global.

The Malaysian delegation was led by Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, Minister of Human Resources, who represented the Government of Malaysia in discussions on key global labour issues, including employment creation, workers' rights, skills development, social protection, occupational safety and health, and the future of work in an increasingly digitalized economy.
During the conference, Malaysia actively engaged with international partners, government representatives, employers' organizations, and workers' representatives from around the world to exchange views and best practices aimed at strengthening labour market resilience and promoting inclusive economic growth.
The meeting also highlighted Malaysia's strong tripartite approach, bringing together representatives from the government, employers, and workers. The Malaysian delegation included:

Speaking at the conference, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan emphasized Malaysia's dedication to aligning its labour policies with international standards while ensuring that economic progress remains inclusive and beneficial to all segments of society. He also highlighted the importance of workforce upskilling, fair employment practices, and strengthening social protection systems to meet the demands of a rapidly changing global economy.
Malaysia's presence at the 114th International Labour Conference underscores the country's ongoing efforts to contribute meaningfully to global labour discussions and to foster a fair, productive, and sustainable future of work for all.

Farewell Program in Honour of Tuan Haji Mohd Asri Bin Abdul Wahab, Former Director General of Trade Unions Malaysia
On 21 May 2026, the Farewell Lunch was held by UNI-MLC at Hotel Federal Kuala Lumpur in honour of Tuan Haji Mohd Asri Bin Abdul Wahab, Former Director General of Trade Unions Malaysia, in recognition of his dedicated service, commitment, and invaluable contributions throughout his tenure as the Director General of Trade Unions Malaysia. The event also marked as a token of appreciation for his efforts in maintaining harmonious industrial relations in Malaysia.
In the opening remarks, Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI-MLC, expressed his sincere appreciation to Tuan Haji Mohd Asri Bin Abdul Wahab for the strong and amicable relationship, as well as the continuous support extended to UNI-MLC over the years. He congratulated him on his successful and distinguished tenure in the department. He also stated that UNI-MLC highly acknowledged the significant contributions made by Tuan Haji Mohd Asri Bin Abdul Wahab in sustaining harmonious industrial relations in Malaysia and strengthening effective tripartite cooperation among the government, employers, and workers.
In his farewell remarks, Tuan Haji Mohd Asri Bin Abdul Wahab conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to UNI-MLC for organizing such a memorable farewell and retirement event in his honour. He also shared his insightful experiences, knowledge, and professional journey throughout his years of service in the field of industrial relations and trade unions. He highlighted the continuous efforts of UNI-MLC, particularly the leadership of Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI-MLC, in upholding trade unionism, protecting workers’ rights, and promoting workers’ safety and welfare.
The event was also attended by Tuan Haji Mohd Asri's wife YM Hajah Raja Rosni Binti Raja Kassim, Tuan Haji Azzal Bin Abu Talib, Director of JHEKS Selangor & Wilayah and other distinguished officials and who were present to honour and celebrate his remarkable farewell event.

CERTIFICATES PRESENTED TO INDUSTRIAL COURT PANEL MEMBERS REPRESENTING WORKERS FOR 2026–2028 TERM
KUALA LUMPUR, 21 May 2026 – The Presentation of Certificate Ceremony for the Appointment of Industrial Court Panel Members Representing Workers for the 2026–2028 term was successfully held at 11.30 a.m. at Hotel Federal Kuala Lumpur.
The programme was jointly organised by Industrial Court of Malaysia and UNI-MLC as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen workers’ representation and uphold justice within the industrial relations system.
In his welcoming address, Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal expressed his sincere appreciation to all invited guests and participants for their presence and continuous support towards the labour movement. He reaffirmed UNI-MLC’s commitment in defending workers’ rights and ensuring fair representation and justice at the Industrial Court.
The ceremony was officiated by Yang Arif Tuan Zulhelmy Bin Hasan, who presented certificates to 87 out of the 97 appointed representatives. In his speech, he highlighted the important role played by Industrial Court Panel Members in preserving industrial harmony and ensuring fairness in employment-related disputes.
Also present at the ceremony were Tuan Bashah Bin Bachik The Registrar of Industrial Court and several EXCO members of UNI-MLC, reflecting strong solidarity and commitment towards enhancing workers’ welfare and representation in Malaysia.
The event concluded successfully with active participation from all attendees and a shared commitment towards upholding justice, fairness, safety, and dignity for workers at the Industrial Court. The presentation of certificates symbolised the trust and responsibility entrusted to the appointed representatives, while encouraging them to continue contributing effectively towards protecting workers’ rights and interests.

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 May — The Certificate Presentation Ceremony for the Appointment of Worker Representatives to the Social Security Joint Committee (JRKS) for the 2026–2028 session was successfully held at the Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur at 10.30 a.m. The programme was jointly organised by Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) and UNI-MLC as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the role of worker representatives in upholding justice, fairness, and workers’ rights.
The ceremony was officiated by Tuan Yuzain Bin Md Razak Mohd Yusof, who presented appointment certificates to 39 out of 44 appointed worker representatives for the 2026–2028 term.
In his speech, Tuan Yuzain highlighted the importance of social security protection, industrial harmony, and strong cooperation between employers, employees, and relevant agencies in safeguarding workers’ welfare and rights. He also stressed the significant role played by worker representatives in ensuring fair and effective representation in employment-related matters.
Meanwhile, during the solidarity remarks session, Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal expressed his sincere appreciation and congratulations to all certificate recipients and honoured guests for their valuable presence and contributions. He reaffirmed UNI-MLC’s commitment to continuously defending workers’ rights and ensuring justice through strong representation and collective efforts at the Industrial Court.
The programme concluded smoothly with active participation and strong support from all attendees. The presentation of certificates symbolised the trust, responsibility, and commitment entrusted to the worker representatives in carrying out their duties effectively for the benefit of workers nationwide.
UNI-MLC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING 1/2026 SUCCESSFULLY HELD IN KUALA LUMPUR
The meeting, which commenced at 9.00 a.m., served as an important platform to discuss various matters related to union administration, workers’ welfare, occupational safety and health, financial reports, as well as future international labour movement activities.
In his opening address, Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal expressed his appreciation to all delegates and participants for their strong commitment, cooperation, and continuous support towards strengthening the trade union movement in Malaysia. He also emphasized the importance of solidarity and collective responsibility among affiliated unions in safeguarding workers’ rights and welfare.
The meeting was attended by Presidents and General Secretaries of UNI-MLC affiliated unions from across the country, alongside UNI-MLC Executive Committee members.
Among the key matters discussed were the presentation of activity and financial reports, the implementation of the PERKESO Occupational Safety and Health Program 2026, approval of new affiliated unions under UNI-MLC, participation in UNI APRO 2026 activities, preparations for the UNI Global World Congress 2027, as well as appointment matters involving the Social Security Appellate Board (JRKS) and Industrial Court Panel Members for the 2026–2028 term.
The meeting also reaffirmed UNI-MLC’s continued commitment to strengthening unity among affiliated unions, enhancing workers’ representation, and ensuring that labour rights and welfare remain protected in line with current industrial developments and challenges.
The successful organisation of the meeting reflects UNI-MLC’s ongoing dedication in advancing the interests of workers and reinforcing the role of trade unions as an important pillar in Malaysia’s labour movement.

LAPORAN PENUH PROGRAM SEMINAR ON COMMUTING SAFETY PERKESO / UNI-MLC
Program ini dianjurkan bertujuan meningkatkan kesedaran berkaitan keselamatan perjalanan ke tempat kerja (commuting safety) serta memperkukuhkan budaya kerja selamat dalam kalangan pekerja di negara ini.
Majlis dimulakan dengan sesi pendaftaran peserta sebelum diteruskan dengan nyanyian Lagu Negaraku dan bacaan doa.
Majlis turut diserikan dengan ucapan aluan oleh Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal Presiden UNI-Malaysia Labour Centre (UNI-MLC), yang menekankan kepentingan aspek keselamatan pekerja ketika berulang-alik ke tempat kerja. Beliau turut menyeru semua pihak termasuk majikan, pekerja dan agensi kerajaan agar memainkan peranan secara bersama dalam memperkukuhkan budaya keselamatan dan pencegahan kemalangan di tempat kerja.
Seminar diteruskan dengan pembentangan Topik 1 bertajuk “Vision Zero & Pencegahan Kemalangan” yang disampaikan oleh YBrs Tuan Wan Mahmood Bin Wan Harun daripada Bahagian Pencegahan, Perubatan dan Pemulihan PERKESO Kuala Lumpur. Dalam sesi tersebut, beliau menjelaskan pendekatan “Vision Zero” yang memberi fokus kepada usaha mencapai sifar kemalangan di tempat kerja melalui langkah pencegahan awal, kesedaran keselamatan serta penglibatan aktif semua pihak dalam organisasi.
Seterusnya peserta mengikuti pembentangan Topik 2 bertajuk “OSHMS Integrated with Commuting Safety” yang disampaikan oleh YBhg Tuan Ir. Ts Ahmad Afizul Haq bin Abdul Razak daripada Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya. Pembentangan tersebut memberi penerangan berkaitan kepentingan integrasi Sistem Pengurusan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (OSHMS) dengan aspek keselamatan perjalanan harian pekerja bagi memastikan pengurusan risiko yang lebih efektif.
Pada sebelah petang pula, seminar diteruskan dengan pembentangan Topik 3 bertajuk “Keselamatan Jalan Raya” yang disampaikan oleh YBrs ASP Hasrul Ilham Bin Zakaria daripada Jabatan Siasatan dan Penguatkuasaan Trafik (JSPT). Beliau berkongsi statistik kemalangan jalan raya, faktor utama kemalangan melibatkan pekerja serta langkah keselamatan yang perlu diamalkan oleh semua pengguna jalan raya bagi mengurangkan risiko kemalangan.
Secara keseluruhannya, seminar ini berjaya memberi pendedahan dan kefahaman yang lebih mendalam kepada para peserta mengenai kepentingan keselamatan perjalanan ke tempat kerja, selain memperkukuhkan kesedaran terhadap budaya kerja selamat demi kesejahteraan pekerja dan organisasi.
