UNI-MLC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING 1/2026 SUCCESSFULLY HELD IN KUALA LUMPUR
UNI-MLC successfully convened its Executive Committee Meeting 1/2026 on 21 May 2026 at the Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur, attended by full Executive Committee members together with more than 100 union leaders from affiliated unions nationwide.
The meeting, which commenced at 9.00 a.m., served as an important platform to discuss various matters related to union administration, workers’ welfare, occupational safety and health, financial reports, as well as future international labour movement activities.
In his opening address, Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal expressed his appreciation to all delegates and participants for their strong commitment, cooperation, and continuous support towards strengthening the trade union movement in Malaysia. He also emphasized the importance of solidarity and collective responsibility among affiliated unions in safeguarding workers’ rights and welfare.
The meeting was attended by Presidents and General Secretaries of UNI-MLC affiliated unions from across the country, alongside UNI-MLC Executive Committee members.
Among the key matters discussed were the presentation of activity and financial reports, the implementation of the PERKESO Occupational Safety and Health Program 2026, approval of new affiliated unions under UNI-MLC, participation in UNI APRO 2026 activities, preparations for the UNI Global World Congress 2027, as well as appointment matters involving the Social Security Appellate Board (JRKS) and Industrial Court Panel Members for the 2026–2028 term.
The meeting also reaffirmed UNI-MLC’s continued commitment to strengthening unity among affiliated unions, enhancing workers’ representation, and ensuring that labour rights and welfare remain protected in line with current industrial developments and challenges.
The successful organisation of the meeting reflects UNI-MLC’s ongoing dedication in advancing the interests of workers and reinforcing the role of trade unions as an important pillar in Malaysia’s labour movement.
