On 14 February 2017, a small opening ceremony of basketball court was held at WIT Kolej by Tan Sri Dato' Soong Siew Foong.

More than 200 guests and students witnessed this opening ceremony.

Among the guests present at this opening was Chairman of WIT Kolej, Tan Sri Zainal Rampak and UNI MLC President, Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal
