CTEU Youth Leadership Workshop

A Youth Leadership Workshop was conducted by the Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Continental Tyre P.J Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (CTEU) on 23 December 2016 at Genting View Resorts, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

This workshop was attended by 30 participants.

Bro. Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI-MLC was invited to the Workshop to present a paper on "The Role and Challenges faced by Unions in the Era of Globalization", presentation of certificates to the participants and for the closing ceremony of this Workshop.

Leadership Workshop & Program Development Plan for SUTE 2017-2019

A Leadership Workshop & Program Development Plan for Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Telekom Malaysia Berhad Sabah (SUTE) for the period 2017-2019 was held on 22 December 2016 in Kota Kinabalu.

More than 30 trade union leaders from Sabah attended this Leadership Workshop.

Also present was the President of SUTE, Tuan Hj. Adanan bin Jalil, the General Secretary, Bro Jaflee Hj. Hassan and Bro. Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI MLC.

Bro Shafie presented a paper on "The Role and Contributions of UNI Affiliates at the National and Global Level” at this Leadership Workshop.

KPPKSSM (SHELL EMPLOYEE UNION) CA Signing Ceremony

On the 16^th of December 2016, the CA Signing Ceremony between Kesatuan Pekerja Pekerja Kumpulan Shell Semenanjung Malaysia KPPKSSM (Shell Employee Union) and Shell Management was held in Shell Sports Club Port Dickson from 9am to 10am.

This CA is a three-year agreement which is for the period of 2016 to 2019.

On behalf of the company, the CA was signed by Mdm. Islamiah Idris, Shell Downstream, HR Manager, Mr. Ganes Thangasamy, Shell West Malaysia Employee/ Industrial Relations Advisor, Mdm. Shalina Sabtu, Shell Refinery PD, HR Manager, and Mr. Lim Ee Hock, Shell Refinery PD, Production Excellence Advisor.

On behalf of the union, the CA was signed by Bro. Akbal Katar, President of the Shell Employees Union, Bro. Adam Ananthan, General Secretary of the Shell Employees Union, Bro. Khoo Kai Kiong, Treasurer, Bro. Prakash Silvadorai, Assistant General Secretary, Bro. Riza Ismat, Committee Member, and Bro. Tong Tuck Loong, Committee Member of the Shell Employees Union.

Also present in this CA Signing Ceremony was Mr. Shairan Huzani Husain, Shell Downstream Managing Director and Mr. Maarten Stals, Shell Refinery PD, Operation Production Manager.

Aeon Big & Unions Joint Workshop on “Best Practice & Smart Partnership”

A joint workshop between Aeon Big (M) Sdn Bhd, Aeon Big Managers Union and Aeon Big Employees Union was held on the 15^th of December 2016 at Starpoints Hotel Kuala Lumpur with the theme “Best Practice & Smart Partnership“

The company was represented by the new Managing Director, Mr Masayoshi Masuda, Mr Hiroshi Watabe, the HR Administration Accounting Finance Senior General Manager of Aeon Big and Mr Daniel Kang, the HR Senior Manager of Aeon Big.

The Executive Committee of both the Managers Union and the Employees Union attended this workshop.

The first session of the workshop was kicked off by Bro Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI MLC giving his opening speech followed by a presentation by Mr Masuda on the “Business Direction of Aeon Big Malaysia 2017”.

All participants comprising of Aeon Big Union Leaders had the opportunity to have an effective dialogue (Q & A) with Mr Masuda to raise their concerns on some of the key issues facing Aeon Big.

In the second session, Bro Shafie delivered a presentation on “Best Practice & Smart Partnership between Aeon Big Unions and the Company”.

A group discussion between both the Aeon Big unions was held to discuss all other issues faced by the employees of Aeon Big Malaysia.

Both the unions expressed their full support to Mr Masayoshi Masuda for his vision and mission and the Business Direction of Aeon Big Malaysia for 2017.
