AEON Group Union Global Network Committee Meeting

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AEON Group Union Global Network Committee Meeting was held in  Tokyo, Japan from the 5^th to 7^th of December 2016.

This meeting was attended by more than 30 Aeon trade union leaders from Asia Pacific and the objective of the meeting was to create awareness and solidarity among the  Aeon Group Unions and the Company.

Malaysia was represented by Bro Zulkarnain bin Arifin, the President of AEON Big (M) Sdn Bhd Managers Union and Bro Bascar Palanisamy, the General Secretary of AEON Big (M) Sdn Bhd Managers Union.

UNI Apro was represented by Bro Christopher Ng, the Regional Secretary of UNI Apro, Bro Satoshi Tamai, the Director of UNI Apro Organising and Campaigns, Bro Kun Wardana Abyoto, Director of UNI Apro ICTS, Sis Alice Chang, Director of UNI Apro Commerce and Youth Activities and Sis Yoko Ogawa, Director of UNI Apro Equal Opportunities.

The opening speech was delivered by Bro Takahashi, President of AEON Union Group Workers’ Union followed by a speech by Bro Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, the President of UNI MLC.

UA ZENSEN and UNI APRO then delivered a presentation on their respective activities.

The following Aeon unions from participating countries then gave their latest reports on the work done in their respective countries:

·      Cambodia AEON Retail Worker’s Union

·      AEON Big Malaysia Union

·      Trade Union AEON Vietnam

·      Beijing AEON Trade Union

·      AEON Retail Family Committee (AEON Indonesia)

During the meeting, UNI MLC had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Motoya Okada, President of Aeon Group and presented a plaque together with UNI Apro to Mr Motoya.
