Axiata Group Meeting

A mission jointly organized by UNI Global Union, UNI APRO and UNI MLC to visit the Axiata Group Berhad Officials took place on 25th November 2014 in Kuala Lumpur.

The UNI delegation who was led by Bro. Mohamed Shafie, President of UNI MLC consisted of Bro. Alex Hogback, Policy Coordinator of UNI ICTS, Dr Kun Wardana, Director of UNI APRO ICTS and Bro. Satoshi Tamai, Director of UNI APRO Organizing.

Axiata Group Officials  on the other hand was led by Mr. Mohamad Idham Nawawi, the Group Chief Corporate Officer (GCCO) who presented a paper on Axiata Group - Advancing Asia.

Axiata is one of the largest Asian telecommunication companies. Axiata has controlling interests in mobile operators in Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Cambodia with significant strategic stakes in India and Singapore. India represents one of the fastest growing markets in the world. In addition, the Malaysian-grown holding company has a stake in mobile telecommunication operations in Thailand.

The Axiata meeting which went on for more than an hour was very cordial and ended with a group photo taken of both the UNI delegates and Axiata Officials.
