Leadership and Communication Workshop 2017 - Media Sector Unions

 

 

 

 

 

On 23-24 May 2017, a Leadership and Communication Workshop was held for 3 Media sector Unions; TV3 Executive Union, TV3 Employees Union and Primeworks Executive Union

Among those attended was Bro. Khairuzzaman Mohammad, President of UNI MEI Malaysia Working Group and TV3 Malaysia Employees Union, Bro. Roslan Harun, General Secretary of TV3 Malaysia Employees Union, Bro. Abd Rahim Mohd Desa, President of Primeworks Executive Union, Bro. Hj Nazri, President of TV3 Executive Union and Bro. Shahrul Azman Sharip, General Secretary TV3 Executive Union.

Y. Bhg Datuk Mohamed Shafie, President of UNI MLC was invited to this workshop to present a paper on : "The Role and Challenges faced by Trade Unions". Datuk Shafie considers this a good training session for the Youth in the Media sector Unions.

Opening Ceremony of Continental Tyre Employees Union Building

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On 13th May 2017, the Continental Tyre Employees Union (CTEU) held the opening ceremony of their Union building, after it was damaged when the building caught fire last 29th October 2016.

The Union invited Y.Bhg Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI MLC to officiate the opening ceremony and also to present excellence awards to some of the children of Union members.

UNI MLC takes this opportunity to congratulate the Union and wish them all the best in continuing the great work they do to benefit the CTEU workers which they serve.

90th Anniversary Celebration of AMESU

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On 6th May 2017, the All Malayan Estates Staff Union, or in short known as AMESU celebrated its 90th Anniversary grandly at the Klana Resort in Seremban. AMESU is a well known Trade Union organization and one of the oldest unions in Malaysia.

More than 600 members drawn from all the States of Peninsular Malaysia and also about 100 guests of academicians, trade unionists, employees, politicians and friends within Malaysia and overseas graced this wonderful occasion. 

AMESU recognizes UNI MLC and in light of this invited Y.Bhg. Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI MLC to be the Guest of Honour and to address the large gathering at this celebration.

UNI MLC congratulates and salutes AMESU for 90 Years of successfully overcoming challenges to promote growth, equality and justice for its workers in Malaysia and we thank the President, General Secretary and Executive Committee Members of AMESU.

UNI MLC Brightens Up the Day of 53 Children of An Nur Maisarah (UNI MLC Ceriakan Anak-Anak Yatim An Nur Maisarah)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On 1st May 2017, in conjunction with Labour Day, 70 leaders of UNI MLC traveled 250 km from Kuala Lumpur to Chemor, Perak to brighten up the day of 53 children of Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Yayasan Amanah An Nur Maisarah.

Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI MLC said "UNI MLC's presence at Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Yayasan Amanah An Nur Maisarah was to fulfill its wishes of implementing a community service based program in conjunction with its May Day Celebration 2017 as well as bringing joy to the children of the Home. The purpose of this mission was for UNI MLC to take the opportunity to strengthen our solidarity and get together with these children.

The arrival of UNI MLC's convoy of 30 vehicles and 20 motorcycles at the Home received great response from the Home together with the warmth of UNI MLC staff. UNI MLC served these children lunch and KFC.

UNI MLC also donated books and magazines, mattresses, blankets, towels, praying materials, and hygiene kits to the children of the home. UNI MLC raised funds among all affiliates to purchase these items and cover the costs of all other arrangements during the visit.

Dr. Fazillah Nordin, Chairman of  Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Yayasan Amanah An Nur Maisarah welcome the delegation from UNI MLC and said that the presence of UNI MLC is highly appreciated for taking the time and willing to spend the Labour day holiday with the children of this Home.
