UNI APRO/ICTJ YOUTH WORKSHOP 3–5 DECEMBER 2025 AT PARKROYAL COLLECTION KUALA LUMPUR
The UNI Apro/ICTJ Youth Workshop 2025 was held in Kuala Lumpur 3-5 December 2025, bringing together 40 young trade union leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region. The workshop aims to strengthen youth participation, build regional solidarity, and empower the next generation of trade union leaders in navigating the rapidly evolving world of work.

- Sis. Pooja Kapahi, Director, UNI Apro Youth, welcomed participants with heartfelt words on regional solidarity and empowerment. She reminded the youth delegates that their voices, ideas, and leadership are essential to strengthening unions and building a more equitable world.
- Bro. Rajendra Acharya, UNI APRO Regional Secretary, delivered a powerful message on the growing importance of youth leadership in shaping a fair, just, and resilient labour movement.
- Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI MLC, highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing young trade unionists and emphasised the collective responsibility to safeguard workers’ rights in the digital era.
- Bro. Toru Harukawa, General Secretary, ICTJ Japan, shared thoughtful reflections on the value of international cooperation and the critical role of young workers in sustaining vibrant, future-ready unions.
- Bro. Josue Grajo, UNI APRO Youth President, shared the significant role and challenges by the young trade union leaders in this region. Encouraged more youth to participate in trade union activities.
- Sis. Marta Ochoa, Youth Director, UNI Global Union, shared an energising statement on the global youth movement, stressing that young workers must be at the forefront of union transformation and emphasised the need for inclusion, innovation, and persistent advocacy.
