LO TCO 60043 UNICOME Project Evaluation & Planning Meeting on 19-21 January 2015 in Kuala Lumpur
The
LO-TCO Project 60043 UNICOME Evaluation and Planning Meeting was held on 19th
– 21st January 2015 at UNI-MLC Head Office in Kuala Lumpur.
This
meeting was attended by Bro. Neil Andersson, Head of UNI SCORE, Sis. Marie
Khilberg of Unionen, Sis. Emma Almgren of Handels, Sis. Alice Chang, Director
of UNI APRO Commerce Sector and Bro. Shafie, President of UNI-MLC.
The
purpose of this meeting was to evaluate the implementation of the Project 60043
UNICOME for project year 2014 and evaluation of the performance of the 1st
priority union and 2nd priority unions.
During
the meeting, plannings for the year 2015 and some changes in the priority of
unions to be organized was also discussed.
On the
following day, 20th January 2015, the UNI Officials visited some of
the retail departmental stores in Kuala Lumpur for a meet and greet session
with the Union leaders and Management Staff. Among the stores visited were :-
- · IKANO Pte.Ltd (IKEA) - Mutiara Damansara
- · AEON Big (M) Sdn Bhd. – Subang Jaya
- · Robinsons & Co. (M) Bhd. – Gardens, Mid Valley
- · ISETAN of Japan Sdn. Bhd. – Suria KLCC

CTEU members in Manik Urai,Kelantan
About 20 Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Employees Union (CTEU) members traveled to
Manik Urai, Kelantan to assist some of their members family in the
cleaning process and also gave some assistance to them.

Meeting with Myanmar Minister of Labour
The 6th ASEAN Tripartite Social Dialogue was held on 13 - 14 Jan 2015 in
Nay Pyi Taw organised by ASETUC and FES Germany and hosted by the
Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MOLES) of the Union
of Republic of Myanmar. The MOLES Minister HE U Aye Myint inaugurated
the Conference.
In conjunction with
the Social Dialogue, Bro. Christopher Ng, Regional Secretary of UNI APRO
and Dr. Kun Wardana, Director of UNI APRO-ICTS had the opportunity to
meet with the Minister of Labour , his two Ministers and Director
Generals of all the Departments at his office on 15 Jan. 2015. The Joint
Secretary of the Employers Union was also present.
The one hour meeting
was extremely constructive. From the interactions, it is clear that the
Ministry appreciate the effort to promote partnership industrial
relations.

The
Conference was officiated by His Excellency U Aye Myint, Minister of
Labour, Employment and Social Security Republic of the union of Myanmar.

Ms. Gowri Balasubramaniam, Head of Human Resource Department, Digi Telecommunication Sdn Bhd Visits UNI-MLC
Ms. Gowri Balasubramaniam, Head of Human Resource Department, Digi
Telecommunication Sdn Bhd together with Bro Ismail bin Jonid, President
of DiGi Employees Union visited UNI-MLC today on 7.1.2015 for a
meeting with Bro. Mohamed Shafie, President of UNI-MLC.
This
is a follow up meeting from the signing of the 1st Collective Agreement
between the Company and Union which took place last 15 December 2014 to
exchange ideas and discuss means of strengthening the communication gap
between the Company and Union.
The
meeting was very fruitful and engaging and UNI-MLC will work on
extending our positive achievement to DTAC in Thailand and Grameenphone
in Bangladesh.
