Bro. Andy Snoddy Head of UNI Graphical & Packaging Sector visited Kuala Lumpur along with Bro. Yngve Daoson, Political Secretary of the Swedish Union of Forestry, Wood and Graphical Workers & Sis. Josefine Pettersson, an intern from the same organisation of Yngve Daoson from 09th - 10th October 2014.

On 09th October 2014, Bro. Andy, Bro Yngve and Sis. Josefine met for a Meeting with Bro. Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President UNI-MLC at the UNI-MLC Office, Bangsar Park, Kuala Lumpur. Following that, Bro. Andy, Bro. Yngve and Sis. Josefine with the organizers for Graphical and Packaging Sector visited Rengo Packaging Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Employees Union activists at Shah Alam, Selangor & Amcor Tobacco Packaging Sdn. Bhd at Subang Jaya, Selangor on the same day.

On 10th October 2014, Bro. Andy, Bro. Yngve and Sis. Josefine had a meeting with the Graphical and Packaging liaison committee of Malaysia at UNI-MLC Office Bangsar Park, Kuala Lumpur and later visited Bro. Soosai Raja at the NUNW Office to discuss the organizing of newspaper companies.

ASETUC Malaysia National Working Group Meeeting

The meeting was attended by 27 participants from the affiliates of the three GUFs in Malaysia and ASETUC Secretariat.

The meeting was opened by the Bro Rozseli Majid, Chairman of the ASETUC Malaysia National Working Group, followed by Bro Shafie who delivered key note messages.

It was followed by a presentation elaborated about the ASEAN, the history about the founding of ASETUC, and its missions, and updates on the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015. The presentation also discussed ASETUC’s review on the labour dimension of ASEAN Community Blueprints, as stated in the Policy Paper.

The meeting then discussed about how we will conduct the Malaysia National Tripartite Dialogue Conference.
