with the Secretary General of Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia
On 21 May 2015, ASETUC General Secretary, Brother Mohamed Shafie
BP Mammal, together with BWI Regional Secretary, Brother Apolinar Tolentino,
and the ASETUC Secretariat had a Courtesy Meeting with the Secretary General of
Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia, Dato’ Saripuddin Kasim, in his office in
Putrajaya.
Brother Mohamed Shafie started the discussion by introducing
ASETUC and social dialogue initiated by ASETUC, while Brother Apolinar
Tolentino elaborated the plan to host the 7th Regional
Tripartite Social Dialogue Conference (RTSDC) in Malaysia this year. The RTSDC
is an ASETUC annual conference, hosted by the tripartite partners of a country
which holds the Chairmanship of ASEAN, to discuss mutual interests in labour
issues.
ASETUC is pleased to learn that the MOHR Malaysia is interested
to work with ASETUC and the Malaysian Employer Federation (MEF) to host the said
Conference, and looking forward to discussing more details about this plan.
